Why I Founded Hedge Fund Connect

Hedge Fund Connect was born out of a personal journey—a desire to bridge the gap between students like me and professionals in the hedge fund world.

When I was in my first year of college, I found myself eager to connect with industry professionals, but struggled to find a network that welcomed students and offered a professional, real-world ambiance in the city where I was studying. Then one day, I stumbled upon the TV series Billions, and something clicked. I was captivated by the dynamic, purpose-driven environment of hedge funds—the sense of working under pressure, navigating uncertainty, and being part of a high-performance culture. I knew right then that this was the world I wanted to be part of.

However, even with this newfound passion, I had no idea what the real hedge fund environment would be like. The more I researched, the more I realized that getting into this industry was going to take more than just a degree. I needed a network, mentors, and resources to truly understand the field. So, I worked hard to get into a respected Master's program, but it still didn’t feel enough. Without industry connections or insights into the daily life of a hedge fund professional, I felt stuck. I needed a way to get closer to the real world of hedge funds while I was still in school, studying for the minimum requirements to get an internship or a job in the industry.

That’s when the idea for Hedge Fund Connect was born. I wanted to create a space where students and professionals could meet, learn from each other, and share experiences. I wanted to open up the hedge fund ecosystem to people like me—students seeking knowledge, professionals looking to share their expertise, and anyone with an interest in the industry. Hedge Fund Connect isn’t just about networking—it’s about creating opportunities, building meaningful relationships, and opening up new possibilities for everyone involved.

I want to bring together people from all levels—beginners, professionals, and experienced individuals—into a space where we could talk about the daily realities of working in the hedge fund world. For professionals, it’s about connecting with others who share similar ambitions and challenges. For students like me, it’s about opening up the network and creating opportunities to learn.
